Fengshui is not about symbolisms. most people who thinks that it is, got their knowledge of fengshui from books, which are not a good source of info as far as fengshui is concerned. fengshui is about the fengshui methods used to measure and analyze. it is about yin and yang, from which early heaven bagua and later heaven bagua are derived. it is about the 5 elements- fire, water, wood, metal and earth, which must not be used to over-analyze fengshui. the reason why there is no symbolism in fengshui is that fengshui is how we use nature to optimize life so in a way, fengshui is nature in fengshui, nature is more powerful than man thus, we cannot just create energy we do need to know what energy exists where by using the fengshui methods so, if we know what energy exists where in the house, then we can use that energy accordingly so for example, by using annual flying stars, you'd know that water in 2010 will be in the west. so we put 4 green living plants in this part. why? because in fengshui 1 (water) and 4 (wood, or plants) is a good combination to attract friendships. but the actual water is not present. the energy is by using the flying stars method. the plants are used to use the water energy to bring in more clients/ friends in 2010. this is fengshui. |
