Is best! but i have heard it is not considered good to have your bed facing the doorway - (but is this just if it is the entrance) - however i would like to place my bed in my one room studio apartment at an angle to which the end of it (where my feet are!) would be pointing towards the kitchen door! - not the main entrance door - does this make a difference? it is important to me, because having my bed there would give me a lovely view of the sky and the sea when i am reading in bed. does anyone with a good knowledge of feng shui think it is ok to have the end of my bed facing the kitchen door? i am aware that this all slightly laalaa land, but i am just interested to know. the bed would be facing south! in every other aspect the room is very positive and good. if i were to place the bed so that its end was going towards the kitchen door, is there anything i can place - say above the door - to keep the flow of energy positive. thankyou for any advice, but i may try it anyway - as i think its important to be individual and i would get lots of positive energy from being able to see the sunlight through the window - thanks again!

Feng Shui is baseless superstition. Definitely not a science as it proponents claim. Penn and Teller on their Bullsh-i-t tv show demonstrated this by getting multiple and expensive Feng Shui "experts " in to redecorate the same home. None of them knew that each of them were redecorating the work of another Feng Shui specialist. Guess what? They all completely redesigned the house layout saying the old one (done by feng shui) was bad for energy flow, and the new one was right. All of them charge a fortune too. That's where the REAL purpose of feng shui is!

It is not necessary to believe, it just works. It is not religion.

I think it is fine as long as there is a fish tank in the room...

Feng Shui first came to notice in the west as the philosopy / religion of the Society of Harmonious Fists (the Boxers). The Boxers taught that building railroads into China violated the country's inner harmony, and that the bullets of the Europeans' guns would bounce off the invulnerable skins of the rioters, because of their Feng Shui superpowers. The Boxer rebellion was the most disastrous popular rising in Chinese history, and probably in the history of the world. Fortunately, the less you know, the easier it is to fool you.

It is difficult to explain what fengshui is - because it is just difficult to quantify or even prove something that you cannot see or hold. but i have studied fengshui under some chinese fengshui masters. and i can say that it is not a belief, not a religion and not a philosophy. fengshui is about a group of methods used to make nature work towards that would benefit our lives. so, fengshui is like a manipulation of nature, so that it can make our lives luckier. this means that it is impossible for man to create luck, which is energy. we need to use the methods to analyze space, so we can manipulate it - or work around it. so, this is like adapting to the space that we live in so it will benefit us. the energy or chi in fengshui is not something that you can feel, nor sense, even if you are a psychic. but it is there. and it has a unique/ distinct characteristics per location in your house. it can be known by using certain fengshui methods like flying stars. so when you plot the flying stars of your house, you can determine which areas are best made into the rooms that you live more - these are the spaces with good energy. in fengshui, when you stay in a particular area, you "activate " the energy that is present in this area. activate means make the energy your life - so its characteristics will become your life living in that space. if goog energy is present, then you feel luckier. if bad energy is present, then you experience problems, expenses or accidents. when your application is based on the fengshui methods, then your application is more powerful than simple fengshui. simple fengshui like bed facing the mirror or door is bad, has no power if you dont have it. but if you do have it, then it can complicate your life. so it is good that you use the methods more, but you just have an understanding of the simple fengshui. another thing that practitioners do is that we often use more than 1 method in 1 application. this is like hitting 2 or more birds with 1 stone... so your application can be made even more powerful. so, it is difficult to give advice when you dont understand the fengshui methods, or at least you dont have measurements where i can based my calculations on. like in flying stars method, the energy distribution is based on the degree where the front door of whole house (not bedroom) faces (this is a degree measurement using a compass), and when you first move into the house. in fengshui, time has an energy that reacts with us and our environment/ house. so, in fengshui, it is possible to calculate for lucky time, ages - when will we be luckier even without good fengshui in the house.
