Feng Shui, like any other metaphysical device, works better if the user believes in it. The aesthetics created by Feng Shui can certainly bring peace of mind and a general sense of ease. If you're really worried about the door try setting up a mirror on the opposite wall from the door to reflect negative energies. Or you can put a live plant there to absorb negative energy and turn it into positive energy. ---------------------------------------------------- Edit: - I have studied Feng Shui in the sense of someone on the outside looking in. I believe that most metaphysical devices are ways for humans to manipulate their own psychic abilities through controlled methods. The existence of actual results coming from the practice of Feng Shui can not be scientifically proven, so the personal beliefs one holds for the workings of such a device cannot be labeled as incorrect. I have won awards for the papers I have written on the characteristics of Feng Shui and theories about the subconscious workings of psychic abilities.

To raff: obviously, you dont know anything about fengshui. fengshui is not a belief, and thus not a religion. it is not also a philosophy. you dont need to believe in fengshui for it to work. fengshui is like nature, it just works whether you believe in it or not. i do practice fengshui, based on certain classical fengshui methods like flying stars, 8 mansions, etc... but am not obsessed by it. i just use it to apply on certain structure/ circumstances, then after applying the method, i forget about it. it works whether i like it or not. that is, if the method you are using is that powerful. 2 doors in direct path with each other is not bad luck. but when 2 of these leads to the outside road, it just have an effect that things/ lives goes out easily- this means, people die easily, and you keep on loosing things/ money thru accidents or expenses. this kind of fengshui is not based on methods, but it is based on simple fengshui, which is not that powerful. so you dont really experience people dying fast when this exist in certain houses. the effect is not immediate. besides, in fengshui, time has an element that reacts with the energy (a combination of elemental energies forming new energy forms) that exist in a specific space in the house.

In my practice, I have found that feng shui works for two reasons: 1)It enhances the beneficial energy in any space based on predictable patterns; and 2)It focuses one’s intention therefore putting a “vibration in motion.” Don’t worry about “bad luck” (unless you plan on manifesting misfortune) and use a feng shui cure (like a plant) to slow the energy down. Be well, Jessica

A lot of people use it, so perhaps there is some truth to it... Business people as well as common folks throughout the world improve all aspects of their lives using Feng Shui. Although the exact origins of feng shui are debatable, it is thought to have originated in China about five thousand years ago. According to Feng Shui cultural and social issues are influenced by natural, metaphysical and cosmological factors. Anyone that has researched Feng Shui history knows that this level of interaction between all things is the theory of chi. Although chi is present everywhere, it pools in special places which are very auspicious in feng shui. When a less than auspicious placement occurred, Feng Shui cures were sought to change the flow of energy. This inclusion of nature into the living environment is the first point in Feng Shui and it provides solid ground for higher levels above. The art of Feng Shui is the balancing of energies through adjusting the relationships of particular items in the environment. In Feng Shui, a home and family were lucky if they were blessed to be placed in the most auspicious surroundings.
